Two El Nido Resorts Secure Prestigious MICHELIN Keys for 2026

Palawan’s legendary Bacuit Bay has cemented its reputation as a world-class destination as two iconic properties—El Nido Resorts Lagen Island and El Nido Resorts Pangulasian Island—were officially named in the 2026 MICHELIN Key selection revealed in Paris.
Out of only nine properties selected across the entire Philippine archipelago, Lagen Island joins an elite global collection of 657 Two-Key hotels recognized for delivering exceptional stays. Sister sanctuary Pangulasian Island secured a One-Key rating, affirming the group's leadership in sustainable luxury hospitality.

A Reimagined Eco-Sanctuary Takes Two Keys
Reopening its doors less than a year ago following an extensive, year-long transformation, Lagen Island secured a Two-MICHELIN-Key rating. The property blends modern tropical design with authentic Filipino craftsmanship, placing guests inside a calm cove framed by dramatic limestone cliffs and dense rainforest canopy.
- Architectural Evolution: Overwater cottages, beachfront suites, and forest rooms feature native timber, woven textiles, and locally sourced stone that merge into the surrounding terrain.
- Wildlife & Marine Access: Guests can kayak directly from their suites into tranquil lagoons, hike forest trails home to endemic flora, or snorkel alongside vibrant marine life in the protected bay.
Pangulasian Island: The Pinnacle of Quiet Luxury
Earning One MICHELIN Key, Pangulasian Island—affectionately known as the "Island of the Sun"—caters to travelers seeking absolute seclusion and understated elegance. The private island retreat features spacious beachfront villas, private pool villas, and canopy accommodations elevated high above the tree line.
Visitors can spend unhurried days exploring private white-sand beaches, enjoying tailor-made sunset cruises, and experiencing personalized dining curated around local flavors.
A Sweeping Victory for Ayala Land Hospitality
The global recognition highlights a major milestone for Ayala Land Hospitality, which captured four of the country’s nine MICHELIN Keys. Alongside the two El Nido island sanctuaries, the group's urban addresses in Manila also excelled: Raffles Makati earned the nation's only other Two-Key rating, while Fairmont Makati picked up One Key.
The global 2026 MICHELIN Guide spans 2,832 Key properties across 79 destinations, with 600 located in Asia and the Middle East—further positioning Palawan at the forefront of Asia's eco-luxury travel boom.
